EN590

The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) created the EN 590 European Standard Gasoline Specification. It is intended to guarantee that fuel bought within the European Union complies with a set of minimal standards for quality, safety, and environmental protection. The specification is currently going through its fifth revision, and in 2021, a new specification called EN 228 is most likely to replace it. Limits are set for variables like sulphur content, the range of distillation temperatures, cetane number, and octane number in EN 590. Additionally, it establishes a minimum and maximum lubricity limit. To reflect changes in the fuel market and technological advancements, the specification is frequently updated.

Jet fuel

It appears colorless to straw-colored. Jet A-1, a kerosene-like fuel, is the most popular kind of jet fuel used in commercial aviation. Crude oil is fractionally distilled to create jet fuel.

Petroleum coke

Petroleum coke, abbreviated coke, pet coke or petcoke, is a final carbon-rich solid material that derives from oil refining, and is one type of the group of fuels referred to as cokes. The purer one is used as a solid fuel instead of mineral coke or for the production of electrodes and in the construction of some types of electric batteries. Its high calorific value and low ash content make it a good fuel but its high sulfur content makes it a highly polluting fuel. It is therefore necessary to use it in areas where there is an adequate presence of fume purification filters to avoid the dispersion of polluting substances into the environment. The product can also be gasified and then transformed into coke gas and stored for subsequent use.
