HMS 1 and 2
A subset of scrap metal known as heavy melting steel (HMS) consists of HMS 1 and HMS 2. HMS 1 is a thicker grade of scrap metal that includes items like railroad tracks, substantial machinery components, and farm machinery. A lighter grade of scrap metal called HMS 2 is used to make lighter products like cars, home appliances, and consumer electronics.
